I am so excited to have a guest reader for this book!  Simone Esters is Miss Missouri 2019/2020 and I invited her to share this story with you and her personal experience!  Simone was 2nd Runner Up to Miss America 2019 and is an advocate for mentoring with her program Leave Your MARK.  She works with Big Brothers Big Sisters of America. 

 

Skin Like Mine is about a girl celebrating the different colors of her family's skin.  Simone talks about how important it is to understand how people's heritage affects them and how important it is to be comfortable in your own skin.  What a boring world it would be if we all had the same color skin.
