A Very Personal IntervYOU

This past year has been very challenging for my family. I don't talk about it a lot publicly because I have felt like it was my mom's story to tell. We talked about it recently though because I really wanted to share what I have seen her go through. Last fall my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. It was not in her lymph nodes but it was a pretty big tumor and the kind of cancer it was is an aggressive kind that meant she had to have a lot of treatment and she is still in treatment. I asked her if she would be willing to talk to me here about it because I have watched her go through many many changes in her body and mind because of the cancer. We finally sat down and had a conversation about it. It is very different than some of my other IntervYOUs but I hope you will watch it because I am proud of her and because I think it's important to talk about all the different ways people experience a crisis in their self-image.
